Guess what?... A Baby shower!!!

Kelly, Michelle, Crew, Ann and Me

Me cheesin' it by all my loot

So, my wonderful friend Michelle gave me a baby shower for all of my long lost friends from Timp ER! (Plus some other great family and friends in town). It was so fun and she did such a great job - as usual. I'm so excited for her handsome little man Crew and Jericho to be friends! They will have great fun together.
It was so nice to see my good friends and talk about our "good ol'days" from Timp ER. I worked there for 6 and a half years and it was such a fun time in my life. Michelle and I had lots of great traveling adventures where we made memories to last a lifetime. Ann was my mentor and "second mom". She taught me so much and she is one of the most amazing and FUN people I've ever known. Kelly is my little shining example and I can't believe what a GOOD person she is. Denise is someone that I cherish dearly and am so grateful for her. We went to Hawaii together and it was such an awesome trip. Since then, I have always felt like a member of her family. Linda, Kayla, Stephanie, and Renee are all great people and I am so glad they are my friends. It was so nice of everyone to come and it made my day! I started working at Timp as a brand new RN and was scared out of my mind. I had struggled to find a job and could hardly believe that I was actually going to work in an ER as a brand new grad. It was my dream and exactly what I wanted and couldn't believe it was actually happening. Immediately I was taken in and treated like family and I knew I was supposed to be there. I went from being a scared little RN to a "flippant" RN in no time :) My mom about died when I called and told her that Dr. Vizmeg had told me that I was flippant. I didn't know what it meant, but she scolded me and told me I needed to mind my manners. I still work with Dr. Vizmeg - it's been 8 years - and he still calls me flippant all the time. We had many fun nights in the ER of BBQ-ing steaks at 2 in the morning, watching movies, eating all kinds of crazy concoctions, playing jokes on unsuspecting victims, and most of all experiencing life's greatest tragedies and miracles together. Nothing will bring you closer to someone than trying to save the life of a total stranger. I grew up in that ER and experienced some of the happiest and saddest times of my life. I will never forget the amazing friendships and bonds and I am so grateful to have those today.

Thanks again Michelle for the wonderful shower. You are a wonderful friend and such a great person. Thanks to everyone for coming, or bringing gifts by. It was so great to see everyone and it made me feel special. Once again, I have been spoiled/blessed dearly and I can't thank everyone enough!

And now that I made it through all of the showers, through bed rest, preterm labor, am back to working a little and I am ready for this little man to come, he has settled in and decided he likes it here in my tummy and doesn't want to come out. Imagine that. :)

I am so happy that you (or Michelle) thought to invite me to your shower. It was SO good to see you. I miss all of you now that we've all moved on from the hospital. I still appreciate all my friendships that began there, I am just seriously lacking on keeping up with them. I know this sounds totally dorky, but I appreciate your frienship even though I'm totally in a different league than you and Michelle and most of the other people. I have always appreciate all of you and the fact that you never judge me. Good luck the next few weeks until the little guy comes. I am so excited to see pictures of him! And we really do need to keep in touch more! =D
